Wilma Noreen Wakefield Obituary

Yakima, WA - Wilma went home to be with her lord and savior in Enumclaw WA on August 4th, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born to William and Blanche (Halatt) Shuck. She is survived by three children and spouses, daughter Robin and Tim Grennan, son Bill and Alice Wakefield, and son Steve and Kim Wakefield, as well as 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1950 and married Charles Wakefield in 1953. She lived all her life in the Green River Valley and Yakima Valley and had a farm in the Wenas Valley, raising hay and cattle for 40 years. She retired as a meat wrapper in 1983.

On any given day you could find her reading the bible and praying, where she was part of the prayer hot line. She spent much time with the grand kids, along with the Miles kids, baking, playing baseball, badminton, teaching them the bible, and singing songs playing the piano and autoharp. While also delighting in their mud fights and cow pie wars and playing in the pool. She was a fun and happy grandma. One day she saw a guy drive by on a motorcycle and said "I bet that's fun", totally out of character. While she never had that chance, I'm sure she got the ride of her life when those angels came to get her and take her home for eternity to be with her lord and savior Jesus. See you soon mom.
