Moses Lake, Washington - Born on January 5, 1944, Shirley Mardell Bartsch passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Moses Lake, Washington, her final cherished residence.

Throughout her life, Shirley called several places in Washington home, including Walla Walla, Yakima, and Quincy, before settling in Moses Lake. For the past three years, Shirley faced her battle with cancer with immense courage and resilience. In her passing, Shirley was looking forward to being reunited with family members and loved ones who had gone before her. Shirley was surrounded by loving family and received unconditional love from her rescued companion Callie.

Shirley possessed a deep and abiding love for animals, a passion that brought her immense joy throughout her life. She also found great pleasure in being near the water, whether it was boating or simply watching her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren revel in the fun of the lake. Family gatherings and the sounds of laughter on the water were moments she treasured.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sons, Elvis Wayne Wilson, Dean Oliver Wilson, and Jimmy Lee Bartsch, and her grandchildren, Casey Lee Walk, and Abigail Mardell Wilson. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Wilson, and many family members and friends.

Shirley will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 12:00-2:00pm, at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home (201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA). A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00pm. Shirley will be laid to rest at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
