Zillah, WA - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney Bainter, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, who passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born in Yakima, Wa, on February 18, 1958, Rod was raised in Zillah, where he spent the majority of his life. Rod started working at The Squeeze Inn Restaurant for his parents at the age of 11. In the early 1980s, Rod and his wife, Renee, took over the family business, which became a cornerstone of their lives. Following Renee's passing, Rod took a step back from the restaurant, ultimately retiring in 2024.
Rod will forever be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, his unwavering loyalty to the Green Bay Packers and the Oregon Ducks, and his love of listening to the Beatles.
Rodney leaves behind two daughters, Beth Husted (husband Darin) and Laura Bainter (husband Ben Goroch), grandchildren, Jaycie Klute and Dylan Husted, as well as his brothers, Norm and Greg Bainter. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Renee Bainter, his sister, Debbie Carlson, his parents, Ted and Marge Bainter, and his dog, Cooper who passed away two weeks prior. Rod and Cooper were inseparable.
A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at Wandering Hop Brewery on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Yakima Humane Society.
