Yakima, WA - Robert (Bob) Gonsalez Ranjel, 87, passed away, June 26, 2025 in Yakima, WA. Bob grew up in Toppenish, WA as Robert (Bob) Gonsalez. Many knew him as Bobby. Went to Toppenish High School graduating 1957. Bob was very popular in high school where he played football and basketball. Bob joined the Navy reserves in high school and had a tour of duty after graduating as a Stewart for an Admiral in Alaska.

Moving later to Washington Bob was a Career Path Counselor for a non-profit organization, and another company called Chemithon Corporation in Federal Way, WA. Bob finished his career path working for the state County Courthouse in Yakima. Bob loved people, and had a great sense of humor and a kindred heart, often sharing thoughts and insights to all ages.

In 1972 Robert changed his name to Robert (Bob) Ranjel, his Mom's maiden name. Bob loved to share stories with the Harmon Senior Citizens Center in Yakima and was a very deeply spiritual man often sharing with complete strangers his love of God, Mother Earth and the spiritual energy of Buddhism.

Robert is survived by one brother, John Gonsalez, of Seattle, WA, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, and many great and great great, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his Mom, Grace Ranjel Gonsalez, sister Delores, and brothers Alex, Ruben, and Charles Gonsalez, as well as a wife Shirley Krehnke.

Family and friends will be gathering at the Colonial Funeral Home, Toppenish, WA July 10th from 11:15-11:30 at which time we will all be escorted by the Patriot Riders at 11:45 to the Zillah Cemetery for full honor guard and graveside service at 12:00pm.

There will be a gathering of family and friends afterwards from 1-2pm at the VFW Post in Yakima on 5th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a Saint Jude's Hospital, Yakima VFW Post, or Wounded Warrior.
