Nicholas R. Bicknell Obituary
Yakima, Washington - Nicholas R. Bicknell, aka Captain Lollypop, was born on September 24, 1951, and passed on May 28, 2025.
Nick's family was a big part of the Ocean Shores Pirates, where he earned the moniker Captain Lollypop. As a Pirate, he attended many community events spreading laughter and cheer to young and old. Serving children was truly in Nick's heart and he did so in many ways.
Nick worked for the City of Seattle for 30 years, in the Parks and Recreation Department, working with youth and adults with disabilities and special needs. He was a Coach to several youth sports teams in the 70's and 80's.
Nick was very active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles in both Ocean Shores and Yakima, Washington, where he was the resident Santa Claus for many years, and he was a Founding Member of the Ocean Shores Eagle Riders.
In 2018, he became an active Member in Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.), having served as Sergeant At Arms and Events Coordinator and was a Primary Contact for 20 children over seven years. Nick was not married, nor did he have children of his own, but he loved all the children he served over the years.
Nick was a kind man with a gentle soul. A man of honesty and integrity, who did things with a healthy dose of fun.
He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Bicknell and Mother Betty (Brisky) Bicknell, sister Pat & brother Lee.
A friend to all, our Captain will be greatly missed.
