Yakima, Washington - It saddens our hearts that on September 24, 2025 we lost our beloved son and brother Michael Felix Raptcheff. Mike was born in Yakima, WA on March 23, 1968, to Gordon & Irene Raptcheff. Mike was born with Autism, believed to be from Agent Orange which his father was exposed to in Vietnam. Mike was so loved by his family and everyone that knew him. Mike was preceded in death by his father Gordon Raptcheff on December 13, 1995. Mike was taken care of by his mother Irene for the first 12 years of his life; he then moved to Frances Haddon Morgan Center in Bremerton, WA specializing in Autism. Mike was at that facility from 1980 to 1995; his mother faithfully traveled to that facility monthly, rain or shine to visit with Mike. Finally, after much work, a group home became available in Yakima. Mike then moved to the home facilitated by SOLA, with many different caregivers over the years. Mike's caregivers truly loved and cared for him. Mike was able to be home with his family every weekend for lunches, dinners and holidays which he enjoyed very much. When Mike was younger, one of his favorite things was Keebler cookies, not so much the cookies, but the empty boxes which he loved to line up like soldiers. From time to time we would remove one and Mike would instantly know it was missing! Most recently the family would take Mike out to his favorite lunch places like McDonalds, KFC and Powerhouse Grill!

Many times, after finishing his food he would say "Go Home" which meant to his group home, so we knew he loved it there and was well taken care of. Mike is survived by his mother Irene Raptcheff, brother Axel (Marla) Raptcheff and their family and his half sister Irene Raptcheff from New York.

Mike was a very unique person and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Yakima Valley Community Church, 7901 W Nob Hill Blvd, Yakima, WA 98908.
