Mark Lewis Harris Obituary

Mark Lewis Harris, 67, passed away on March 25th, 2025. Born in Yakima, Washington, he spent his childhood on his family's farm on the Satus, where he shared many adventures with his brothers and developed a love for motocross, winning numerous trophies. He graduated from Granger High School in 1976.

In his early 20s, he moved to Seattle to pursue a career as a marine engineer.

Starting as a deckhand, Mark worked his way up to Chief Engineer, a role he proudly held for the last 42 years. Over his 46-year career in the Alaska fishing industry, he was not only dedicated to his craft but also passionate about mentoring young engineers and guiding newcomers.

Beyond the cold waters of Alaska, Mark found joy in the warmth of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where he loved deep-sea fishing and making memories with his family and friends.

A devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, Mark is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia; his daughters, Erica, Alyssa, and Hannah; his brothers, Dennis, Jeff, and Tony Harris; and his beloved nieces. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He is preceded by his parents Erma and Delbert Harris.
