Yakima, Washington - Kenneth "Rick" Beck was born on June 16, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, to Aaron and Gail Beck. He passed away on May 11, 2025, in Yakima, Washington.

His younger brothers, parents, and grandparents moved to the family farm in Salida, Colorado, where he grew to love farming and ranching life. He had fond memories and enjoyed telling stories of growing up with his two younger brothers and their adventures on the farm and hunting trips with his dad.

In 1964, the family moved to the West Valley area and upon graduating, Rick fulfilled his dream of serving in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier.

After his service in the U.S. Navy, Rick owned and operated two gas stations, a store manager, and worked at various ranches in the West Valley area. He ended his career as a Technician for USDA.

Rick had a deep love of service to his country and fellow veterans, devoting countless hours to the VFW. He served as a commander of Post 379 and for many years on the funeral team.

Rick had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed team roping, rodeos, leather crafts, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a deer and elk horn hunter, until his health forced him to stop.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents and both brothers. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tina, son, John, daughter-in-law, Brenda, and daughter, Carrie, grandsons, Cody and Brady (Emily), granddaughter, Kyndel, and six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00am at Brookside Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow the service at the VFW (118 S. 5th Ave, Yakima, WA).
