Yakima, Washington - Janice Gail Hamilton (Holly) was born February 21st, 1943, sister of Shirley Rae Holly in Sacramento California, to father, Martin John Holly, and mother Virginia La Verne Holly. She married Bill Hamilton in 1969 and they had one son together, Devin Hamilton. She later married long time friend and love, David Oral Thorndike in 2017 and continued their many happy years together on land and sea.

Janice left us unexpectedly May 18th, 2023 in the early afternoon. Living in Yakima at Fieldstone, she enjoyed her independence and had made lots of friends with residents and staff. Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband David in 2022. She missed him terribly; that they're together now forever is a blessing.

Jan retired from a successful career in Property Management and Realty having trained numerous associates and business partners. She had a keen eye for quality of life and helping people live in comfort. She was an avid boater with David having many adventures together. She was also an accomplished golfer of many years. She was an incredible cook and had authored dozens of family recipes, all favorites. A little known fact was that Jan was a crack shot with a rifle and in her 70's, once shot the lid off a water jug at 100 yards with only a red-dot sight.

Janice is survived by her sister Shirley Rae Breckinridge (husband Larry), daughters Andrea McRae (husband Bill), Brittany Boberg (husband Marc), and Shannon Thorndike. Also by sons Devin Hamilton (wife Janet), James Hicks (godson), Chad Thorndike, and David McNeil. Also by grandsons Ian Hamilton, Teran and Colin McRae, Dylan McNeil, and granddaughters Aliya McRae, Brooklyn and Zinnia Boberg, Katie McNeil and Kori Thorndike.

Janice and David's loving Golden Lab "Gentleman Jack" of truest affection, survives them both thriving under great family care.
