Lynden, WA - Grace Jio, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully just months before her 101st birthday, on August 29th, 2025, in Lynden, WA. Born to Toraji Shiraishi and Katsuko Yamasaki on January 9th, 1925, in Wilder, ID.

Grace met the love of her life, Masateru Jio, at 16 years old; they finally married in November of 1948. Mas and Grace operated Jio Farms in Wapato, WA, for many years and were always producing the best vegetables. Mas and Grace were blessed with four children: Randall, Gordon, Norman, and Carol. Grace eventually left the place she called home for so many years and moved to Ferndale, WA, to be closer to her daughter, Carol.

Grace was committed to her Lord and Savior and always enjoyed attending Sunday service and supporting Mission Aviation Fellowship, Good News Club, and Vacation Bible School.

Grace is survived by her children; Gordon (Phyllis) Jio of Santa Fe, NM, Norman Jio of Richland, WA, Carol (Michael) Calonita of Ferndale, WA. Grandchildren: Kendra (Jamie) Sickler, Josh (Kayley) Jio, Casey (Matt) Holst and Zach Jio. Great-grandchildren: Josie and Walker Holst, Lyla Jio, and Ruby and Wesley Sickler. Grace is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Mas, son Randall, daughter in law Susan and grandson Jacob.

Although we will miss Grace here on earth, we are comforted in knowing she is with the lord and reunited with her loved ones.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to both Lynden Christian Healthcare Center and Whatcom Hospice for taking such great care of Grace.

A private, family, graveside service will be held at the Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima, WA, please no flowers or Koden.
