George Marley Obituary

Lynnwood, WA - George Marley reluctantly left this earth October 27, 2025, but is now happily reunited with his loved ones on the other side.

George often said he won the lottery three times.

His first win was when he was adopted at birth by his parents Francis "Bones" Marley and Bette J. (Hill) Marley July 27, 1949, in Naches Heights, WA. He was so loved and lived an idyllic childhood in and around the apple orchards cavorting with his brother Steve, his cousins, and friends. He graduated from Highland High School in 1967. He earned a bachelor's degree and graduated from WSU in 1971.

George said win number two was being able to make a living at something he loved - numismatics. He worked with collectible sports cards for a few short years but largely worked in the coin industry. Most recently he owned a coin shop in Lynnwood which he sold in 2019. He regretted retiring but health challenges necessitated the change.

George said his third win was marrying Paulette (George) in 1989. He loved everyone in her family, and they loved him.

George is survived by his brother Steve Marley, sister in law Gloria (Majnarich) Marley of Yakima and their children John Marley of Yakima, Emily (Marley) Rowe, her husband Aaron Rowe and their children Jakob, Izaak, and Veronika all of Wenatchee. George is also survived by his brother in law Mark George, sister in law Jan (Cyr) George of Yakima and their children Stefan Paul George of Nashville, TN, Brandon George and his wife Brenna (Mickus) George of Shoreline. He is also survived by his sister in law Kathy (George) Speedy and her partner Chuck Peo of Ridgefield, WA and Kathy's son Brett Speedy and his wife Jannalyn (Farley) Speedy of Junction City, OR. Surviving also are many relatives and friends. His wife Paulette (and their dog Mister) of Lynnwood love him and will miss him so very much.

George sometimes merited the moniker Snarly Marley but he was an absolute softy. He fiercely loved his family and friends and supported animal charities and pet adoption.

At George's request there will be no funeral services, but a celebration of life is planned for some time next spring.
