Fred Daniel Herman Obituary

Fred Daniel "Dan" Herman was born to Fremont and Eva Marian (Post) Herman on June 26, 1939. He entered into rest on September 11, 2024 at his home in Prosser. He spent his younger years in several different states before his time in the Navy. After his discharge, he settled in Caldwell, Idaho where he met and married his wife, Kay McGinty on May 13, 1961.

In 1978, he, his wife and their three sons moved to Grandview, Washington. He went to work at Seneca/Treetop in Prosser and stayed on until his retirement at age 66.

He went on to volunteer at the local food bank for a few years before getting a job driving school bus for the Grandview School District. Dan dedicated much of his summer as a volunteer at the Grandview Fair and Rodeo serving a board member for many years, making new friends as he went.

A favorite pastime was camping and riding 4 wheelers, which he shared with friends and family for many years.

Dan is survived by his wife, Kay; three sons, Merle, Michael and Martin; and his grandchildren, Merle Jr., Daniel, Justin, Alicia, Eric and eight great grandchildren, all of whom he was so proud of.

At his request, there will be no services. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome.com.
