Yakima, WA - Dorothy L. Railston of Yakima passed away on Sept. 6, 2025 at age 85. She was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Everett, WA to parents Thomas and Gunhilde Tucker. She graduated from Edmonds HS in 1957, got an AA degree at Everett Jr. College, and got her BA from WSU in 1961. She received her Master's degree from Boston Univ. in 1963. While living in the Boston area, Dorothy married her first husband, Jack Dunnan, and had two sons, Greg and Kirk Dunnan. Dorothy returned to Washington in 1976, and worked as a counselor at Davis HS in Yakima, a job she absolutely loved. She married Rick Railston and added stepson Brit to her family. Dorothy was an avid gardener, reader, quilter, and cook. She loved being around people and made friends easily. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rick. She is survived by sons Greg (Kristin) and Kirk; stepson Brit (Julie); grandchildren Emily, Catherine, Peter, Josie, and Maddie; and three sisters.

A private graveside service will be held on September 19, 2025.
