Yakima, WA - Andres Virgen Jimenez was born on November 30, 1936, in Zacoalco De Torres, Jalisco. On May 17, 2025, he passed away peacefully, at his home in Wapato, Washington, surrounded by his loving familia.
He married Genoveva Villanueva on November 4, 1967. Together, they had four children, three daughters, Alina, Lydia, and Andrea and one son, Adam.
Andres was a hardworking man, known for his dedication to laboring in orchards, fields, and farms throughout the Yakima Valley. Like many men of his generation, born during the Great Depression and coming of age in the post-war era, Andres built a life through resilience, perseverance, and an unyielding work ethic. His hands told the story of a lifetime of honest labor under the sun, and his heart was always rooted in the values of familia, faith, and hard work.
He especially enjoyed spending time fishing with his family, patiently teaching them everything he knew about the craft. Those quiet moments by the water will be cherished forever by those who shared them.
Just as fulfilling as fishing was his love for gardening. From apricot and nectarine trees to garbanzo beans, strawberries, peppers, and corn, his backyard was an abundance of love and labor. He had a deep love for beautiful flowers and took great care to ensure his wife and daughters always had beautiful rose gardens to enjoy.
Andres was preceded in death by his parents, Josefina and Francisco Jimenez, his brothers, Marcelino, Gregorio, Porfirio, and his sisters, Antonia, Margarita, Gregoria. He is survived by Genoveva Villanueva Jimenez, his daughters, Alina Olsen, Lydia De Leon (Arnulfo), and Andrea Jimenez; his son, Adam Jimenez (Cristina); his grandchildren, Amber Salinas (Bobby), John Olsen (Riley), Josh Olsen (Madison), and Nikolas De Leon, and his great-grandchildren, Andre Edgerly, Parker Olsen and Hudson Daniels.
